[February 11, 2026] This month, Narragansett Bay Insurance (NBIC), a Heritage Insurance Company, participated in a ‘Souper Bowl of Caring’ event to fight hunger in Rhode Island. This is NBIC’s second year supporting this initiative for the RI Community Food Bank, including a financial donation and volunteering for a telethon to gather donations from local businesses and residents. This event is held in conjunction with the NFL Super Bowl, to draw on energy surrounding the big game. 

CEO of The Heritage Companies Ernie Garateix said, “We are proud to provide financial support and volunteerism for community initiatives like the Souper Bowl of Caring to show our commitment to the well-being of the communities we serve. We recognize the importance of initiatives that support fighting hunger, and we are grateful to the team members who took part in supporting the Rhode Island Community Food Bank with other local volunteers.”

[February 17, 2025] This month, Narragansett Bay Insurance (NBIC), a Heritage Insurance Company, participated in a ‘Souper Bowl of Caring’ event in Cranston, Rhode Island. This annual event, scheduled around the NFL’s Super Bowl Championship, raises money to fight hunger and support food charities nationwide. NBC 10 Rhode Island hosted a telethon to collect donations for the Rhode Island Food Bank as part of the event.

NBIC and other organizations sponsored the event to contribute to the total amount of donations received. Through the event, $284,299 total was raised for the Food Bank. Volunteers at the live telethon, including representatives from NBIC, raised $109,000 of the total.
